kitchen work triangle
A simple yet proven concept in thinking of how to effectively create a kitchen design is to consider the use of a Triangle. The O.C. Register recently highlighted this point in a great article. Triangles work well in most kitchens that are standard, but you will find that in Orange County many of the high end homes use 4, 5 and 6 points of reference as some homes use two refrigerators or multiple ovens.
Rule 1 – The Triangle
Most kitchen designers start with the basic “work triangle,” also known as the “golden triangle.” In a kitchen, imagine a triangle with its three points representing the locations of the refrigerator, cooking area and sink. In this efficient kitchen arrangement you would only have to pivot from one part of the triangle to another to avoid unnecessary movement while preparing meals. More Rules.
